U-Speak is a specialty myofunctional and speech-language therapy clinic in Midlothian, VA that serves children, teens, and adults. Our mission is to improve each client's quality of life by helping them achieve better breathing, communication, and eating.
Our founder, Marie Marant, CCC-SLP, CMT®, is certified in orofacial myofunctional therapy and trained in Talk-Tools, SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Feeding therapy, Simon Says, and PROMPT therapy techniques. Additionally, Marie has a passion for treating language and social skill challenged clients. She offers the highest-quality, evidence-based therapy in the most appropriate setting for each individual client, whether that be in our office, online, or out in the community.

Certified Myofunctional Therapist
With over 30 years of experience as a speech therapist, Marie specializes in assessing and treating orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs). She is certified in orofacial myofunctional therapy as well as trained in SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Feeding therapy, identifying and treating TOTs (tethered oral tissues/tongue ties), Talk-Tools, Simon Says, and PROMPT therapy techniques.

At U-Speak, Marie is dedicated to addressing muscle and sensory-based difficulties affecting speech and eating, as well as language and social skills issues related to communication across the lifespan. She views each client as an individual and tailors sessions to meet their unique needs.

Along with her professional expertise, Marie has personally seen the effect that OMDs can have on one's quality of life. She shares insight from her family's experiences and challenges in order to support her clients on their own journeys - from diagnosis to treatment. Additionally, Marie works alongside other medical professionals to make the therapy process coordinated, positive, and rewarding.

Outside of work, Marie enjoys traveling, camping, reading, and hosting game nights. She lives her life with a grateful heart and values every minute she gets with her family, friends, and rescue dog, Scout.

In-person services are based in Midlothian, VA while online services are available to all residents of Virginia.
